MRI
of the Knee:
Injuries such as tears in the meniscus (also known as torn cartilage) or the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) are easily visible.
Other disorders that can be diagnosed include collateral ligament tears, occult fractures (very subtle fractures that are not seen on x-rays), avascular necrosis (death of a portion of the bone), chondromalcacia (softening of the cartilage) and tumors.
